Lovells History of Trout Fishing Museum's 2014 exhibits will be
hunting and fly fishing reels. Exhibit opens on April 26th with the Trout
Season Opener Event at the Lovells Township Hall. The leaky wader
race will return to the opener this year.
If you can visit Lovells stop by the School house and Trout Fishing
Museum for a look at over 100 years of Northern Michigan life. The
display in the trout Fishing Museum is Michigan Bamboo Rod Making
and Rod Makers. Located on the Township Hall property at 8405 Twin
Bridge Rd the displays are open Weds, Fri, Sat & Sun from Trout
opener through labor day 10 - 4. Steve Keim is in the Trout Fishing
Museum Friday and Sunday. Steve is an expert fly tier and Bamboo
rod resource. If you have a Bamboo rod you would like to know more
about or would like to see the display and pick up a couple of flies stop
by for a visit. Carol Britton will be in the School House Weds & Sat. If
you have questions about the area and the families who settled here or
would just like to get some insight to small town history in Northern
Michigan the School House is the place to go and Carol is the person
to talk with.
